Certificate III in Aged Care (CHC30208)

Overview

Certificate III in Aged Care is the nationally recognised qualification for Aged Care workers in Australia. The course is a great starting base for educating employees working within the Aged Care industry. This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisation guidelines and service plans.

Electives

Electives are created in accordance with the national packaging rules to best reflect the current needs of industry.  Your ICM qualification coordinator can discuss the suitability of each elective to your students. Some of our elective titles include:

  • Home & Community Care
  • Leisure & Lifestyle
  • Client Centred Approach
  • Medication

Duration of Study

Students are required to be employed in their chosen field of study to enhance their ‘on-the-job’ learning.  They need to be supervised by a qualified staff member and working a minimum of 16 hours per week.  It is anticipated students will take 12 month to complete this qualification.

Cost

The full cost of this course is $2500.

This certificate is eligible for funding as a New Entrant Traineeship in NSW.

The government may pay an employer subsidy of up to $4000 for each New Entrant Trainee.
