Certificate III in Dental Assisting (HLT31807)
Overview
This qualification provides the knowledge and skills needed to assist a dentist, dental hygienist or dental therapist during all health care procedures, to help maintain high standards of infection control and to assist with practice administration.

Each module addresses a separate area of Dental Practice and healthcare work and will contain learning materials, a written assessment, workplace checklists and observation tools to ensure that all students complete the course with a valid and accredited set of competencies.
Duration of Study
Students are required to be employed in their chosen field of study to enhance their ‘on-the-job’ learning. They need to be supervised by a qualified staff member and working a minimum of 16 hours per week. It is anticipated students will take 12 month to complete this qualification.
Cost
The full cost of this course is $2500.
This certificate is eligible for funding as a New Entrant Traineeship in NSW.
The government may pay an employer subsidy of up to $4000 for each New Entrant Trainee.
